I came across these photos I took last summer and I wanted to share them with you. It made me smile and reminded me that there is life after a very snowy winter. This year in Michigan we have been slammed with snow. Not that I don’t mind it, but sometimes you just need to be reminded that it WILL melt soon. =)
Every year I plant hundreds of sunflowers for my grandmother. My whole summer revolves around those silly flowers and how they are doing. Who ever is visiting her at the time I ask very nicely for them to please check on my flowers and give them a nice drink of water. This past year I started the seedlings in a plastic bowl and let them germinate before I stuck them in the ground. I may have let them grow a little to long..
Oh Summer – I miss you!

I love sunflowers. I plant them every summer in our yard. Unfortunately, the dogs like them also and they usually bite the flower off the stem and run around the yard with it. Then the birds come in and eat all the seeds. No wonder I can’t grow anything nice in my yard.
oooh love sunflowers! i grew up in kansas so now i always try to plant some in my yard to remind me of home
They are so beautiful when in full bloom! (day dreaming)
Jessica – LOL’s.. I have squirrels that love mine!
Lindsay – I grew up on a farm and used to plant them in one of the fields. Beautiful sight!
Save the seeds for the squirrels. They enjoy them quite a bit and will do ANYTHING to get more.
What great pictures, so refreshing! Can’t wait to see your other spring pics for this year
Thanks for stopping by!!
